The "Allgäu" region

No matter from where you look at the "Allgäu", you will always find green meadows and pastures with a crown of majestic mountains under a sky of blue and white, the colors of the Bavarian flag.

That's why the "Allgaeu" is also called the land of the happy cows. If you happen to taste the original Allgäu cheese produced here, you will know that it is true!

The Royal Castles

The beauty of the landscape can only be topped by the marble white fairy tale Neuschwanstein castle  and, almost face to face on the opposite side, the older castle Hohenschwangau all in yellow, where King Ludwig II spent his youth.

St. Mang

The former abbey with the parish church "St. Mang" (traces go far back to an Irish monk Magnus), both rise above the shimmery green waves of the river "Lech".

Founded on an ancient Roman castello, the historic charms are omnipresent here as well as in the medieval centre of 700-year-old Fuessen.

Historic Centre

Nowadays almost the entire centre of the enchanted historic Fuessen has fortunately become a pedestrian precinct, inviting to go for a stroll or just take a break in one of the numerous cafés and restaurants.

Take a trip by ship

A special event for everyone, old and young. Take an impressive boat trip on lake "Forggensee", this artificial reservoir of 12 km length, floating almost weightlessly along the picturesque countryside of the King's Nook.
